Description
A fantastic expression of the young Garnacha vines from the village of Bellmunt in the south of Priorat, the Bellmunt Vi de Villa 2019 is open and vibrant with aromas of red berries and peach. It is light on the palate – and can therefore be served lightly chilled – with mineral notes and a refreshing sweetness.
Located in northeast Spain within the region of Catalunya, Mas d’en Gil lies within the Priorat DOQ, an area famed for its unique soil type – a reddish coloured slate called Llicorella. The estate dates back to the middle of the 19th century when Francesc Gil I Borras acquired the property, and today is owned and run by the Rovira family. Organic and biodynamic practices are carried out in the vineyard, revitalising the soil and bringing health and balance to the plants, whilst increasing the aromatic complexity of the wines.
Food matches: Lovely with charcuterie, spicy paella, mushroom dishes and red meat.
