The 1000 hectare Wildekrans estate is situated in the heart of the fertile Botriver valley in the Western Cape, approximately 30km from the world-renowned whale watching town of Hermanus. The estate is best known for producing premium wine and the wine making philosophy is the belief that the great wines begin in the vineyard. The wine making process similarly adheres to principles of low intervention, with a focus on capturing and retaining the essence of wine and terroir.
A medium bodied Shiraz with hints of spice and black fruit. Ruby red in colour. The nose delivers aromas of ripe plum and blackberries. The palate is exceptionally smooth and well-balanced with subtle tannins and a lingering finish packed full of fruit.
Food pairing: Lovely with game and venison.
