The Umani Ronchi story is one of ancient vines, land and people. The story began more than half a century ago at Cupramontana, in the heart of Verdicchio Classico country, and today Umani Ronchi is the wine estate owned by the Bianchi-Bernetti family, who since 1957 have been making superb-quality craft wines, coaxing the best out of the Verdicchio and Montepulciano that find their finest expression in Marche and Abruzzo. With a total 210 hectares of vineyards between the hills and the sea along the Adriatic coast, 10 districts, each with its own vocation and terroir, are farmed organically with ceaseless and almost feverish efforts to create the finest wine with the help of cutting-edge vineyard management and winemaking techniques.
The Campo San Giorgio Conero Riserva stands out as an important part of the Umani Ronchi history in handling with excellence the Montepulciano grape from the Conero area. The wine is named after the land it is grown on, land that has clearly distinguished, after some experimentation harvests, its unique character.
