Born from the estate’s oldest Merlot vines, Tua Rita Redigaffi is a phenomenal achievement. Aromas of violets, blackberries and black truffle follow through to a full body with firm, silky tannins with lots of texture that’s caressing and enticing. Such polish and beauty. Very long and powerful. With so many successful vintages behind it, Redigaffi is a wine that nails its primary objectives year after year. In that sense, it is extremely reliable and consistent. This is one of the icon wines of Italy.
When Rita Tua and her late husband bought a property in southern Tuscany in 1984, they could have never anticipated that they would end up heading the second generation of Super Tuscans with the proximity to the sea, gently sloping and a unique clay-based soil from the metalliferous hills of the Val di Cornia. Now Stefano Frascolla and his wife Simena, Rita’s daughter, are now at the helm of the estate. The wines are now more elegant and refined than ever, true gems of the Tuscan coast, crafted with the same attention to detail and pioneering spirit from the beginning.
