Description
Rockford Local Growers Sémillon faithfully reflects the contribution made by the Sibley and Kalleske families to Rockford and the Barossa. Their accumulated knowledge draws on five generations of their families’ commitment to the soil and vines and it is this skill that gives the Barossa its strength, stability and soul. The picking of fruit in several stages results in a variety of ripeness levels to blend into the final wine. As a result, the wine is complex, textured, and mouth-filling.
Established in 1984, Rockford is now in its 38th vintage and prides itself on being a traditional Australian winery. Founded by Robert O’Callaghan the winery is a family-owned Barossa institution using traditional Barossa varieties some of which have vines dating back to the 1880s. Much of the equipment also dates back over 100 years and this unique approach to heritage winemaking results in a range of wines which represent the pinnacle of quality that Barossa can produce.
Food Pairing: Great with Roast Chicken, Creamy Seafood, and even Sushi.
