Description
Rapaura Springs Rohe Blind River Sauvignon Blanc is intensely aromatic with lemongrass and ripe citrus aromas and concentrated fruit flavour. The palate is weighty with mouth-filling layers of ripe grapefruit, lemongrass and melon. The mouth-watering acidity helps drive a lengthy finish. Rohe, meaning territory in Te Reo Maori, is a range of wines created to showcase the unique flavours of Marlborough. Marlborough’s sub-regions are yet to be fully understood, each district offers distinct flavours and aromas.
Rapaura Springs (pronounced Ra-para) is a unique oasis in the dry Marlborough landscape with natural underground springs providing a life source for the vines. This pure water enables the vineyards to produce outstanding fruit with minimal intervention. The vineyard is owned and operated by two Kiwi families – the Neylons and the Wiffins – with their connection to the area running deep. In the early eighties, the Neylons were the first family to grow, process and export green lipped mussels. Then in 1985, they bought prime vineyard land and joined forces with the Wiffins to grow orchard fruits before establishing a grapevine nursery. Since then, Rapaura Springs have put in years of hard graft and given all they’ve got to build their vineyards from the ground up, producing authentic and high quality wines.
