Description
Principe Pallavicini Rubillo Cesanese is a bright ruby red in colour, with excellent intensity and violet hints. On the nose, there are perfumes of ripe red fruits and spice. On the palate, the wine is ripe and rounded, with spiced blackberry characters and a refreshing savoury finish.
The bottle looks similar in design to something that would come out of Bordeaux – we are very impressed with this slick offering from the Lazio wine region in Italy.
The family of Principe Pallavicini have been present in the Lazio region since the second half of the 17th century with Cardinal Lazzaro and Stefano Pallavicini, and have seen characters of absolute social importance alternate: including various Cardinals, a Pope, Clement IX, and one of the first Mayors of Rome Francesco Pallavicini. For centuries the Principe Pallavicini have owned various properties in the surroundings of Rome, Colonna, Gallicano, Cerveteri, with a total area of almost 80 hectares of vines.
