Description
Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle comes from a blend of the best plots on the Hermitage hillside, and takes its name from the chapel that perches on the hill above the town of Tain. 2019 is an elegant, poised, and persuasive iteration of what is rightly regarded as one of the finest wines in the Northern Rhône.
One of the most iconic names in the world of wine. The original Jaboulet business was set up in 1834, when Antoine Jaboulet opened in Tain l’Hermitage – and purchased his first vineyards on the classic Hermitage slopes and the Crozes Hermitage plains. Since then, much has changed, most notably in recent history when the Frey family, who own Chateau La Lagune in Bordeaux, took over Paul Jaboulet Aine in 2006. The wines have had a noticeable lift in quality – and we are pleased to list a range of their stunning red wines and white wines from all over the great Rhone Valley, including Cote Rotie, Condrieu, Hermitage and Crozes Hermitage. All estates are now certified organic and the team broadly follow biodynamic principles.
