Description

After fermentation, the Patz and Hall Sonoma Coast Chardonnay stays on the lees and goes through malolactic fermentation in barrel. It is then aged in a mixture of new and used Burgundian oak. The nose has sweet notes of lemon sugar cookie with spicy cedar notes, green apples, almonds, and dried orange peel. This is a mineral-driven, refreshing chardonnay.

Patz & Hall was founded in 1988 by four talented individuals: Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses, and Heather Patz. Together, they turned Patz & Hall into one of California’s most highly regarded wineries with a celebrated portfolio of single-vineyard wines. To achieve their goal of making exceptional limited-production wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the four founders each focused their specialized knowledge and expertise on different areas of the winery’s operations. All wines are made at their state-of-the-art winery in Sonoma – which was designed by winemaker James Hall. In addition to their still Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, they also produce a couple of sparkling wines from these grape varieties.

Food Pairing: Serve with lighter dishes such as chicken salad, seafood and vegetable pasta.
