Located in Costières de Nîmes, south of the Rhone Valley, Michel Gassier strives to produce handcrafted wines that express “the nuances of their soils and the sincerity of their winemaker”. As a winemaker, he believes that the less intervention, the more the terroir can express itself. Working with instinct and intellectual rigor, the goal of Domaine Gassier is to further the understanding of the terroirs, only doing what is essential at precisely the right moment, thinking outside the box and avoiding simplistic recipes. That, for Michel Gassier, is how you can produce great wines. He says it is also a matter of teamwork, a duo that he forms with his wife Tina; together they’ve chosen the exceptional terroirs to have given birth to the wines of Michel Gassier.
Overlooking the marshes of Camargue, Domaine Gassier’s organic vineyards are cooled by Mediterranean breezes. This
terroir of Rhône pebbles, atop veins of ancient seabed chalk – gives unique vibrance and minerality to the wines. Yellow with golden highlights. Intense aromas of apricot and tangerine with a hint of vanilla. Voluptuous, fresh fruits scents of apricot, peach and citrus with a zingy fruit finish that is long and lush.
