Description
Established in 1852, Murrieta is one of the oldest and most respected bodegas in Rioja Alta. Their wines are concentrated and long-lived and some, like “Castillo Ygay”, have become legendary amongst wine-lovers. Marqués de Murrieta has not stood back and stagnated however; their 300 hectare estate produces Dalmau – a blend which represents an avant-garde expression of their terroir.
The nose of this super Marqués de Murrieta – Gran Reserva 2014 is marked by elegance; On a fruity background of currants and ripe plums, hints of sweet spices, dried figs, cedar, cocoa, forest floor stand out. Fine and balanced on the palate, the silkiness of its tannins surrounds a structured and lively wine that undoubtedly will continue to grow in the bottle.
Food matches: All kind of red meats, bellota ham, grilled fish and dishes with rich sauces.
