Mahi Sauvignon Blanc 2023 from Marlborough, New Zealand, highlights the winery’s dedication to showcasing the quality and diversity of individual vineyard sites. Founded by Brian and Nicola Bicknell, Mahi emphasizes texture and true vineyard expression in their wines.
This Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from five different vineyards, each contributing unique attributes. Hand-picked and whole cluster pressed, 19% of the juice was barrel fermented in seasoned French barriques, while 35% underwent native fermentation for added complexity. The final blend, made solely from free-run juice, offers an array of citrus and tropical fruit notes, complemented by secondary characters from natural yeast and barrel aging, resulting in an elegant, creamy, and textured wine with a long finish.
