Description
Denarius 2019 delivers energy and vitality. This is the first run of a young stallion, wild and unstoppable. Less dense than the Liber Pater, but it still has an unmistakable elegance and a delicate satin. A spectrum of aromas adds complexity to the wine, with floral notes of violet and subtle spice. The amphorae ageing has given a polished and harmonious tannic structure to the most achieved and defined Denarius ever produced.” – Loïc Pasquet, owner & winemaker.
Liber Pater, a small boutique winery in the Graves appellation of Bordeaux, which began production only in 2006, has earned a cult status in very a short time, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after wines of today. Owner-winemaker Loïc Pasquet uses rare varieties native to the Graves region on un-grafted rootstock, that were used to make wine in the mid 19th Century, before the scourge of phylloxera destroyed vineyards in France and most of Europe. These rare vines chosen through ‘selection massale‘ produce rather exceptional wines example of ‘pre-phylloxera’ Bordeaux.
