Our first foray into New Zealand Chardonnay – and we are very pleased to be listing this iconic estate from the North Island.
Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay is drawn from six different vineyard sites in the Kumeu Region. Particular attention is paid to the careful selection of the very best grapes from each of the six vineyards.
White peach and citrus zest flavours. It’s balanced, supple and creamy and very approachable at this early stage. No new oak was used in the vinification of 2023, replaced by a high proportion of 1 and 2 year old barrels allowing the fruit to shine. With its energetic, citrussy acidity, this will age beautifully for at least a decade.
A great wine to be enjoyed by itself, or alternatively with some antipasti.
