Sotorrondero is blend of 40% Syrah and 60% Garnacha. The Syrah grapes come from 12-year old vines at an altitude of 630m in Méntrida. While the Garnacha grapes come from older vines planted 45 years ago at an average altitude of 800m in San Vicente. These vines are grown on sandy-granite soils and cultivated using organic farming methods. Sotorrondero is then aged for 11 months in French oak barrels.
This is a deeply complex wine with aromas of black and red berries, spice, toast and tertiary aromas of meat and earth. The lively fruit, fresh acidity, fine tannins and delicate oak notes balance one another impeccably. A delicate yet impactful and decedent wine with a persistent finish. A real showstopper.
