Description
This Jermann Pinot Grigio spends six months on the lees, adding body and texture, before a further few months in bottle before release. It is an intense straw-yellow colour in the glass with intense aromas of ripe citrus fruits with hints of tropical notes. The palate is dry, full and fruity with a long, fragrant finish.
Jermann is a story of passion that begins way back in time. Anton Jermann, founder and forefather, left home in the Austrian wine growing region of Burgenland and the vineyards he owned in Slovenia to set roots in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It was 1881. Anton proudly continued his wine growing activity but it was Silvio Jermann with all his genius and creativity who led the winery to become a leading reality in the winemaking industry, first in Italy and then internationally. Today the Jermann estates include 170 hectares of prime vineyards and 20 of arable crops for a total of 200 hectares combined. It is a company that deals with the whole world but never loses sight of the down-to-earth dimension that makes a wine a great wine. Being close to the land is a cornerstone value of this estate and winery, which is a real pearl of the Collio, renowned for the exceptional white wines as well as for the robust traditional reds.
