Made from a small single parcel of rare local varietal Arcos, planted on the south face of Penya Forada. Vines were planted in 1970 on sand-clay soils. Arcos has a long ripening cycle, deep roots, large bunches with thick skins, perfectly suited to the warm Mediterranean climate in this zone.
The wine has a distinctly Mediterranean character. Concentrated red fruits, pomegranate, with nuances of garrigue herbal notes and peppery spice. The mouthfeel is pronounced with firm, fresh tannins and “crunchy” fruit sensations, all balanced by fresh acidity and a rounded, long finish.
Food matches: Perfect with roast pork and grilled vegetables.
Serves at: 15 – 17°C
