Description
Hugel Classic Riesling is an intense pale green colour, dominated with the green and pale-yellow highlights of springtime tree foliage, all completed with a silvery sheen. The bouquet is still a bit discreet and fresh, it is harmonious, clear and well-stated, yet quite dense and fruity with hints of lime, fresh kiwi, lemongrass, ‘Mirabelle’, greengage and a slightly mineral edge. A beautiful mix of racy citrus fruit, elegant floral notes and some crunchy pear fruit. Perfectly poised and precise, this is beginning to show the first signs of bottle.
In 1639 the Hugel family settled in the picturesque little town of Riquewihr in Alsace, where they have remained ever since. Today Famille Hugel retains the character of a true family wine business and is currently managed by the 12th and 13th generations of the family. Famille Hugel owns an estate of 30 hectares of prime sites in the heart of Alsace, where vineyards have been cultivated for more than 2,000 years, bringing wealth and prosperity to the region’s inhabitants.
