Description
Giacomo Fenocchio Roero Arneis has a light hay colouring loaded with greenish reflections. The fragrance is soft and complex, especially inviting with aromas hinting broom, chamomile and fresh fruit. The flavour is pleasantly tangy, full and very persistent. An expressive and refreshing wine, we noted flavours of melon and peach.
When Claudio Fenocchio succeeded his father Giacomo at the helm of the family business in 1989, the debate between modernist and traditionalists in Barolo was at its most acute. He decided to opt for a third approach, something we can call radical traditionalism. His wines were celebrated for being impressively approachable in youth while getting even better with age. Claudio represents the 5th generation of the Fenocchio family crafting elegant, true Barolos that capture the soul of his vineyards. Far from resting on his laurels though, he continues to push boundaries of quality and innovation while respecting his family legacy.
