Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, the Rialzi 2016 is an intense, bright ruby colour in the glass. It has a complex bouquet of berries, violet and spice initially, with notes of coffee bean and tobacco coming through on the finish. On the palate there is great richness and depth of flavour with smooth, well-integrated tannins and a persistent finish.
Tenuta Perano is a unique estate, complete with natural amphitheatre, situated at 500 metres altitude in the heart of Chianti Classico. The steep slopes and stony soils here create the perfect terroir for producing outstanding quality Sangiovese. Rialzi Gran Selezione is the most prominent wine of the estate, followed by a Chianti Classico Riserva and Chianti Classico. The south, south-west exposure of the vineyards allows the suns rays to provide the warmth needed to perfectly ripen the grapes at this altitude, whilst cool evening temperatures help to preserve freshness and the signature elegance the estate is known for.
