Description
Partially matured in wood, the Pomino Bianco 2022 is a brilliant straw-yellow in colour with slightly greenish reflections. The nose is full of green apple and pear with a floral intensity and rich bouquet of white and yellow flowers. The finish exudes exotic mango and acacia honey. Fresh, tangy and minerally on the palate, you can taste the mountain character in its freshness.
Located on the Florentine mountains within the Pomino DOC, Castello Pomino is a hidden gem surrounded by sequoias, firs and chestnut trees, with vines planted at an altitude of 700 metres. The vineyards are planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Nero and from these they produce two whites, a red using the Pinot Nero grapes, a Vinsanto, and two traditional method sparkling wines. The Pomino estate dates to 1500, the same year that the castle was built, and was named alongside Chianti, Carmignano and Val d’Arno di Sopra by Grand Duke Cosimo III de’ Medici in 1716 as being one of the most highly prized territories for wine production in Tuscany.
