Description

Fermented in barrel and then further aged for 8 to 10 months in French oak (15% new), the Louis Latour Meursault 2021 is pale yellow in colour. It reveals a nose of yellow peach, vanilla, and toasted almond. The palate is very round and has great elegance and length. There is also an astonishing minerality on the finish.

One of the biggest names in Burgundy, Maison Louis Latour has a history that dates back to 1731, when the first vineyards in Beaune were bought by the Latour family. In 1815, the first wines were shipped to Great Britain and they have been hugely popular here ever since. Situated just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the most extensive southerly white wine commune of the Côte-d’Or. The perfect south-easterly exposure and the stony, marl soil contribute greatly to the remarkable finesse of which the wines of Meursault are capable. Typical Meursault tend to be very full, mellow wines and mature a little sooner than the wines from the neighbouring communes of Puligny and Chassagne.

Food Pairing: Perfect with prawn avocado cocktail, grilled sea bass, creamy veal stew, and Beaufort cheese.
