Description
The first ‘cuvee’ of the estate, the Harmonie de Gascogne Rouge 2022 is a youthful wine, designed for early drinking. A ruby red with purple flecks in the glass, the aromas are of raspberry, redcurrant, blackcurrant and strawberry. The palate is voluptuous with supple tannins and finesse.
Chateau de Pellehaut has been in the hands of the Béraut family for four centuries, however it wasn’t until 1950, when agronomy graduate Gaston Béraut took over, that they stopped entrusting the running of the vineyard to tenant farmers and began managing the estate themselves. Successful producers of Armagnac, they applied for permission to produce wines under the Vins des Cotes de Gascogne appellation in the 1980s. Today the estate is run by the sons of Gaston, Martin and Mathieu, producing a broad range of still wine, sparkling wine, and Armagnac.
