Description
Domaine Clavel Le Mas is a sheer delight. Deep ruby-purple colour, with intense, floral black cherry fruits on the nose, the palate has freshness and charming fruitiness in equal measure. Medium bodied, with good purity and depth of flavour, texture is silky, the finish being lively and satisfying.
Pierre Clavel is a renowned winegrower. He created the Domaine there 30 years ago, and he is one the first winegrower in Languedoc to make beautiful wines and to think the terroir of Languedoc was amazing (Her father, Jean Clavel, created The Appelation Origine Contrôlée Coteaux du Languedoc). The Clavel name has been associated with vineyards in the Languedoc area for generations. Today, Domaine Clavel is run by Pierre, but in fact it was his father – the talented wine historian Jean Clavel – who was responsible for founding the AOC Coteaux de Languedoc appellation.
