Description
The Pontet Canet 2015 has an impressively intense colour and a complex nose dominated by fresh fruit aromas. It is huge on the palate, powerful, vibrant and incredibly smooth, sustained throughout by a freshness which imparts a deliciously succulent finish. There is a bracing energy to this wine – now with some decent bottle age behind it.
Located within the commune of Pauillac, the vineyard area of Château Pontet Canet spans 81-hectares and is made up of around one hundred plots and 800,000 vines. It is bordered by Mouton Rothschild and owned by the Tesseron family, who have adopted bio-dynamic winemaking practices and are now one of the front-runners for this type of wine production in Bordeaux. There has been significant investment into the property since the 1990’s and they are making very dependable wines year on year. If you are in Bordeaux, this property is certainly worth a visit.
