Description
Château La Tuilerie du Puy “1616” is a gorgeous golden and sparkling straw colour. The nose reveals rich floral notes mixed with aromas of exotic fruits, lychee and guava with a subtle woody nuance. On the palate, the attack is frank on floral notes that leave, little by little, room for more complex notes of exotic fruits and vanilla to which the alliance of oaks gives their full breadth. This is an excellent French white wine from a great producer.
This wine comes from the family-owned property of Château La Tuilerie du Puy. The family have been there since 1616 and are established in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, surrounded by the Dropt River for more than three generations. The Waud Wine Club have long links back with the estate as we visited there on our Tour du Vin in 2012. The latest generation at Château La Tuilerie du Puy took over in 1996, with our friend Michael Regaud. As you would expect, he has a great passion for wine, the same love of travels, and still this pioneering spirit that characterizes the family. After working with wine in California, Michael brings his international experience to the family estate.
