Description
From the Saint-Julien appellation, the Gloria 2020 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (34%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdot (11%). Matured in 40% new oak casks for 14 months, this wine is a deep crimson in the glass with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and black plums, as well as sweet spice, cedar and a pleasant earthiness. Medium-bodied and elegant with great freshness.
Created by Henri Martin in the 1970’s, this estate is unique in having been built up piece by piece over several years through the purchase of parcels throughout Saint-Julien, the majority of which were classified as “grands crus” in 1855. The origin of the terroirs and the painstaking growing and vinification techniques are the reasons why its quality is recognised worldwide.
Food matches: Wonderful alongside a fillet of beef with truffle or porcini mushrooms.
