Description
This wine is a real treat –
The nose blends delicate black tea and black pepper fragrances with intense fruity aromas (red fruit, blackberry, black fig). Very precise, the palate harmoniously combines a smooth feel with a beautiful vivacity. Powerful, the palate is seduced by this wine’s subtle minerality, its nobility and its persistence.
Situated north of the Médoc, on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, Cos d’Estournel appears in all its glory. Like a true palace of the Maharajah, the château and its pagodas surprise and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel inherited some hectares of vines and built the estate. A passionate adventurer who travelled the world, his taste for the exotic and the East inspired the architecture of Château Cos d’Estournel, truly unique in the Médoc. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, Château Cos d’Estournel continues to shine bright in the Saint-Estèphe appellation and has joined the lineage of the greatest wines in the world. The wines of the estate are distinguished by their unique style, product of an enduring quest for beauty and excellence.
