Description
The nose is bursting with black fruits, spices, floral and oaky scents. It is charming and of great complexity. It expresses the perfect maturity of the 2019 vintage. In the mouth, the wine is generous, savoury. It is very powerful while silky and velvety. Great tannins richness with the necessary acidity to be beautifully balanced. The finish is impressively long. Undoubtedly a very great and long ageing Brane-Cantenac. Vinified in oak barrel and aged for 18 months in new French oak.
Each of Brane-Cantenac’s wines represents a different plot selection of the estate with a specific soil type, vinified with a different approach, and thus expressing a distinct personality. Château Brane-Cantenac originates from the plateau on Terrace 4, giving richer, denser fruit with more structured tannins and therefore more suitable for ageing in bottle. Baron de Brane originates from predominantly Terrace 5, which offers elegant, charming, but lighter fruit, and Terrace 3 which gives structure. These qualities allow this wine to be enjoyed younger.
Food pairing: Roast game birds, mushrooms in cream white wine sauce.
