Description
Château Bouscassé Madiran is a classic wine from the Alain Brumont range, a brilliant example of the wines from this region. There is harmony in the blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat. Delicately fruity with aromas of blackberries on well integrated tannins and a fleshy mouth. It is a wine that remains young, with a slow evolution and therefore shows a good aging potential. This wine will benefit from a couple of hours of decanting – and will only get better and better the longer it is open.
The winery where Waud Wines began the journey – as our house Members’ Selection was made by Alain Brumont. Château Bouscassé is a domain that has belonged to the Brumont family for several generations. It comprises of 50 hectares of large clay-lime soil along the cliff of the commune of Maumusson-Laguian. This terroir is also nicknamed ‘Le Pied de Côte de Saint-Emilion’ with humor, because the Tannat gives the wine certain characteristics similar to the great wines of the right bank of Bordeaux: rigor, fine structure and long aging potential.
