Description
Aged for around 14 months in French oak, the Caiarossa 2013 is drinking beautifully now. Aromas of dark fruit, dried cherries, and bitter chocolate are complimented by woody notes of cedar and spice. The palate is soft and polished with velvety tannins. Great length on the finish.
Founded in 1998, Caiarossa has been in the hands of Château Giscours and Château du Tertre owner, Eric Albada Jelgersma, since 2004. The vineyard area spans 40-hectares along the Tuscan coastline, where terroir plays a key role in the composition of the wines. Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Chardonnay, Viognier, Vermentino and Petit Manseng vines are planted and farmed biodynamically to ensure sustainable harvests year after year.
Food Pairing: Perfect with game dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged cheese.
