Description
Ashbourne Pinotage is a wine unlike anything else: intense, rich and savoury with a beautiful underlying minerality. This is a classic Pinotage, and a great example of this famous South African blend. It is a low production wine, with just under 2,700 bottles being produced in this vintage. This is an elegant, tensile wine that is built to last a very long time. Structurally (and aesthetically) it seems to be somewhere between young Bordeaux and Barolo.
Located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, on a beautiful property on the eastern border of Hamilton Russell Vineyards, Ashbourne is a small Pinotage and Sauvignon Blanc based blend specialist which has developed a reputation for innovative, highly individual, classically styled and age-worthy blends.
