We are pleased to be once again be listing the fantastic Domaine la Soumade Rasteau Villages, this time in the 2014 vintage. The Waud Wine Club toured to Rhone in 2015 and visited André Roméro and his son and tasted their stunning range of wines.
André Roméro has worldwide acclaim for his wines – and the great Robert Parker commented:
“The superstar of Rasteau is André Roméro who produces five Cuvées of drop-dead delicious red wine.”
Domaine la Soumade typically make this wine with the classic Rhone blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. The wine has an intense nose with blackcurrant and blackberry aromas. You will notice subtle hints of spice and vanilla. It is medium to full bodied on the palate, it dances on the tongue with wonderful spicy, fruity and herbal notes. A fantastic all-round wine.
